Today I want to briefly talk about the kind of mentality you’re going to need to generate proper passive income ideas. You see making some quick cash and making residual cash online are two different ballgames. If you really are serious about making online passive income then you need to start thinking strategically and long term. You also need to think about how business systems work and start setting them up.

Let’s go over a few of the short term and non-residual ways that people make money online. You can design and develop websites for a fee. You can sell domain names for a profit. You can sell your copywriting skills to people if you’re a good writer. The list can and does go on and on but what I want you to realize here is that none of these are actually passive income models of doing business.

The above mentioned are actually all work at home ways of doing business but basically you don’t work for a day then that day you don’t get pay. Passive online income is all about setting up businesses and systems that work for you and make you the dough while you’re doing what you want and need to be doing. I want you folks to make sure you understand that fundamental difference when you’re getting into this game so you know exactly what it is that you are going after.

Now let’s talk about residual income ideas that are more long term and start to work on their own to earn you money. You have websites that sell a product automatically without you being there, websites that have advertising that runs with our without you being there, and more. Most of these websites take time for you to set up but once you are set up you can pretty much let them run with low maintenance or by hiring someone to do the work for you.

So the lesson I want you to take away from today is to actually think about the endeavors you are going after before you start them. Yes I agree we all need to make money today to pay our bills, feed our families, etc and that’s fine. But if you do actually want to earn residual online income then make sure you are developing a system that will do that for you as you go along and build up your business.
